Danish IT services firm, Netcompany, has been selected by HMRC to modernise its core digital customer services in a contract worth £135 million.
Through creating one personalised digital account, Netcompany will work to simplify access and management of UK citizens’ tax affairs, transforming HMRC services including tax self-assessment, PAYE, Child Benefit and National Insurance.
“Improving citizen experience through responsible digitalisation of public services is a core part of our DNA. Through this partnership, Netcompany looks forward to working in partnership with HMRC to help realise their digital transformation aspirations, resulting in both better customer services and value to the taxpayer.”
It now joins Accenture, Capgemini and IBM as the winners of four new build contracts for HMRC to modernise core digital customer services for HMRC’s Customer Services Group. Though the contract term is three years, there is an option for two, one-year extensions. If the contract extends to 5-years, the estimated spend will be £120-£135m over the course of the term.
