It's been a challenge keeping pace with all the developments coming out of Whitehall this week - but we gave it our best shot:
Advisory Board member appointed CEO of GDS
Couldn't have happened to a nicer, more qualified person - or a more discerning admirer of piers - but we were delighted to see Christine Bellamy confirmed as the new Chief Executive at the Government Digital Service.
As a member of our Advisory Board, Chris has helped us map out some of the key priorities that we'll be focusing on across the events that make up Government Transformation Week (4-7 November 2024).
Maximising the impact of government transformation
With the weighting for social impact growing to a minimum of 10% - and the government looking to leverage government spending to support the national growth agenda - Government Transformation Week is ideally timed to focus attention on the role of IT procurement in supporting workforce development, skill enhancement, community involvement, and environmental sustainability.
This is why we're delighted to confirm three huge voices in the world of government procurement, coming together in November (pictured above, left-right): Philip Orumwense, Chief Technology Procurement Officer, Crown Commercial Service; Einav Ben-Yehuda, Chief Commercial Officer, Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs; and Clinton Lawrence-Whyte, Director General, Procurement Assistance Canada, Public Services and Procurement Canada.
New capabilities, thinking to enable mission-driven government
We're delighted to welcome the latest Salesforce, Kin + Carta, Netcompany, Sopra Steria, BearingPoint, CGI, Snowflake to the exhibition floor at Government Transformation Expo - bringing new capabilities as well as new thinking from their exhibition stands, as well as the Thought Leadership Theatres open to all expo attendees.
Best Government Event at industry awards
And last but not least - thanks to the support of our friends in central and local government, and our amazing partners - we bagged a sweet piece of perspex as we were recognised for 'Best Development of an Existing Event' at this year's Conference & Events Awards.
We were, in fact, the only government event recognised at the Awards. ❤️
